Here's somethibg to know. A blue lotus was in his worst memory, why? When he was a prince in Egypt(a part of his nationality), his mother was going to be tortured because of slavery that wasn't her fault. Before her exucution, she gave him a blue lotus before resting in peace. That is why he is so careless and negative.
