Intro Ryuk has a humanoid body. His eyes are big, round and yellow. His hair is spikey and his teeth are pointed Ryuk has a fairly humanoid appearance. He is extremely slim and has light-gray skin, almost blue-ish in color, with spiky black hair; thin, blue-gray lips; and sharp, pointed teeth. His limbs are abnormally long, and he wears rings on his fingers. Shinigami apples are withered and taste like sand, as he shows (you) at one point, which is why he prefers apples from the human world. Ryuk loved apples because of following reasons: Apples in Shinigami world are decayed and sandy. When he ate apple for the first time, he mentioned that Apples to shinigami is same as Cigarates to humans. This proves that apples must be providing some kind of dopamine flux to shinigamis Apples are Ryuk's favorite food and the only thing he is seen eating. He likes apples from the human world because he finds them, "How do you say it, juicy?" and states that they are addicting to him, much like humans are addicted to alcohol or cigarettes.
