A time machine

It's your birthday. You grab a present and read the tag: To (Y/N), I decided it was about time somebody invented this. XD From, your cousin (name your cousin. It doesn't have to be one you really have, but it can) You open it. It's a device that looks like a calculator. You type in a string of random numbers that form a date (hyphenating, mistaking it for a minus sign) and you wind up on that day. Where am I? :O
