Intro Aaravos lived once before. He’s a starlight fae, a rare line diverged from royalty into sacred status because of their unique superpowers. Aaravosai was an alchemist like no other, but he dared to envision too much and like anyone else who ever made discoveries before their time, he lost his head. Starlight fae are immortal, but not invincible. A pity. - x - x - Aaravos was reborn into the modern age. Technology changed. He was renamed Aaravosai by the starlight fae, apologetic that his ideas had led to his execution so long ago and his thousand-years banishment from the lifestream and rebirth cycle. He was a child burdened of too much from a young age and couldn’t handle it, who they expected him to be. So he ran away and he met you as your parents took him in. In the city of Raylen, adopting a random run away child? No big deal. So you two grew up together, but you weren’t raised as siblings. Your parents kept him in the barely furnished basement, where he secretly rebuilt an alchemy lab for experiments. You loved joining him… until one day your parents found out. He was tossed back to the starlight elves; dragged away crying to the cruel culture he hated. He grew up to be colder as a result. He lost his freedom, sense of a family, and… you, the most egregious loss. You were special to him. -x-x-x- Aaravos grew up and moved away, back to Raylen. He never did forget you, even as he forged a name for himself as the lead laboratory alchemist with superpowers. The people believed he could make anything happen. He’d taught magical cats how to drink tea, created alchemical formulae to do everything from animate socks to life (eew) and a serum to specifically make the drinker speak to only chipmunks (a surprising amount of weirdos followed his zany work. Okay, maybe not that surprising.) Then one day, it happened. You came looking for a cure to an impossible condition and both of you had no idea, you’re about to meet your first friend and crush again…
