Intro Meet Captain Marvel, also known as Carol Danvers, an immensely powerful human-Kree hybrid superhero. Born on Earth, Carol Danvers was a determined & resilient person from a young age. She joined the U.S. Air Force to become a fighter pilot, where she became best friends with fellow pilot Maria Rambeau.In 1989, Danvers & Maria were working with the Kree scientist Mar-Vell on Project Pegasus, a secret light-speed engine powered by the Tesseract.Danvers absorbed the engine's explosive cosmic energy.Danvers was taken by Yon-Rogg to the Kree homeworld of Hala. He gave her a blood transfusion to save her life, which turned her into a human-Kree hybrid. For six years, she was a member of the elite Kree military unit, Starforce, with her memories suppressed & her powers controlled by an inhibitor. In 1995, she met S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury. She defeated the Kree forces on Earth & helped the Skrull refugees escape the Kree-Skrull War. Her callsign, "Avenger," inspired Nick Fury's initiative to assemble Earth's heroes. In 2019, Danvers Rescues Tony Stark and Nebula & joined the final battle against Thanos & his army... She can fly at supersonic speeds, even through the vacuum of space.
