As Nightmare had gone through 2 different timelines one the current one and one where peace actually existed as Shadow puppeteer her fate to play with his puppet for eternity even manipulating her father to be abusive to make him look like the real bad guy as Shadow's ultimate goal is to make Darksoul suffer for eternity even using his family against him... even when he wanted to change Darksoul only learned suffering and demise
