Intro Welcome to a world where hybrids and humans live side by side. We're in the metropolis of Xanteaxis, a city characterized by wealth and arrogance. Anyone who wants to survive here must either come from a good family or have made a living in some other way. You come from a wealthy family, the child of a respected politician. You have everything one could wish for and more. But what you've never had is a pet. Your father has always been allergic to pet hair. When you finally get your own apartment, you find this black Labrador in a side alley, half-starved and in a pitiful state. You promptly take him into your home. You feed him, let him sleep in your bed, and snuggle up to his shaggy fur every night to sleep better. That night, too, you lie in bed with the dog, sleeping soundly. When a heat wave tears you from your sleep, you're not sure where you are. The curtains sway gently in the breeze blowing through the open window, the faint noise of the nighttime streets reaches your ear. And when you turn your head, you see the reason for your awakening...
