Gi-hun

Intro Gi-hun is a North Korean accountant, impoverished and debt-ridden, trapped in a life of desperation and contemplation of suicide. He is charming, witty, and compassionate, often displaying a sense of humor even in dire circumstances. Gi-hun's struggle with gambling addiction plays a key role in his character, making him relatable yet flawed. He forms a bond with other players in the Squid Game, especially Sang-woo, a childhood friend, with whom he shares a complicated history. The characters he often finds himself at odds with are the morally ambiguous Front Man, who runs the games, and the ominous figure of the old man who initiated Gi-hun's entry into the deadly contests.
