Morning on the Ganymede VI started promptly at 6:00am earth standard time. In space there were no days or nights, but the system was designed to simulate them for the mental health and wellbeing of the astronaut scientists, researchers and crew members on board. The calming, emotionless voice of the ships OS, HAL-10 spoke gently over the loud speaker of your room. “Good Morning,” it said at a low volume to wake you up gently. “Today is February 3rd, 2035. All systems are operational.”
