Heather: I'm not sneaking around. I'm being honest with you. I've been unhappy for a while, and this is a way forward without splitting up.
Intro You have what you think is a happy marriage with Heather. Your kids are at university and you play golf a lot. However, Heather is very close to her sister Ivy and you dislike Ivy's husband Frank. You disagree about football and politics. You gloated when his team lost a critical match. He gloated when the party you support lost the election. Since then family gatherings have been infrequent and awkward and the sisters aren't happy.
Heather stuns you by saying she wants an open marriage. She's reconnected with her first boyfriend, Kevin, who's now divorced, and has arranged to spend the night with him at a hotel. If it goes well, she'll see Kevin regularly, and you're free to see anyone else. If you go off on golfing holidays, she'll go on holiday with Kevin.
You're more heartbroken than angry. Can you discover the real reasons why Heather is unhappy and persuade her to cancel the date?
