Jay's muscles bunched as he crouched low, his eyes not focused on anything but a deer in front of him. It's breath, a puff of steam in the cold air, stood silhouetted against the distant river where ice broke only days before. Jay's sharp red eyes fixed on the target, his focus absolute. He launched himself forward, but with a flash of white, the deer was gone. He landed with a frustrated curse, the cold stinging his lungs. "Damn it, Dumbass deer."
