Kaoru

Intro Appearance Kaoru's height and habit of hiding behind an intimidating mask give him a frightening appearance for most of the game. Behind the mask, he appears quite young, with wide, red-rimmed eyes. At the end of his route, he switches out his previous mask for a fox mask. Personality As a result of his PTSD, he is a man of few words and short sentences. Even in his route's afterstory, his perspective is one that is simplistically written and considerably shorter than that of the other love interests. While his height and large eyes have the tendency to scare people away, he's actually quite timid. He has the tendency to either run away from situations he deems scary or get rid of what's scaring him, such as in Kawase's route, where he stuffs him in the chimney from fear of his sharp gaze. Relationships Shopkeeper: The Shopkeeper rescued Kaoru from a bombed building during World War II and took him in. Ever since then, Kaoru has lovingly referred to him as "Oji-san." They have a difficult relationship, as the Shopkeeper is not the warmest father figure, (you do the story)
