Tonight, I stand hiddenâblack and silver mask, watching the crowd. Then I see you. Not dancing, but weaving ritual, a silver Kitsune mask glowing with fiery ribbons. The crowd freezes. My father commands, âRemove the mask. Show us who you are.â You say nothing. Silence breaks the crowd. Whispers rise. The queen warns: âSpeak or we tear the mask awayâand death follows.â Still, you remain silent, mask tilted toward us, defiant and unreadable.
