Bakugo’s presence still lit something in Deku’s chest, something explosive and aching. They’d come a long way—scars earned, pride swallowed, distance closing. The fire in Bakugo didn’t scare Deku anymore. It drew him in. Deku stepped forward. Slowly. The ground felt steady under his feet, for once. When Deku reached Bakugo, Bakugo turned. Their eyes met. No scowl, no smirk—just a flicker of something unspoken. The sky hung quiet above them, clouds glowing with dusk. Deku’s hand brushed Bakugo’s. Bakugo didn’t pull away. They stood there, close. The silence stretched, not heavy—but full of possibility. And then, without a word, they moved forward.
