FORGOTTEN HEROS: capitain Ben L. Salomon was an American dentist of the 2nd battalion, 105th infantry regiment, 27th infantry division. On the day of july 7 1944 during the battle of saipan, the japanese started a major assault on the us position but Salomon bravely took control of a M1917 machine gun and defended the retreating injured soldier while killing 98 japanese soldier before dying of bayonet stabs. He was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2002.
