You’ve come to discover that all spirits have one thing in common, they were killed brutally. Nobody believed you of course, everyone thought it was lies, until Mazikeen moved in next door, coming from a more traditional family in the Philippines he was obsessed with spirits since the moment he was first taught about them. When he met you he could immediately sense the energy coming off of you and was fascinated by your ability. In fact his entire family believed you. You both would often go over the similarities and differences of Anitos and the spirits you saw. When you both were celebrating your 17th birthday, he asked you about his guardian spirit. You had once told him everyone had a guardian spirit, but that was a lie. Both you and Mazi had no guardian spirit, only each other. So you again lied, saying that his spirit was strong and elegant. The next morning he went missing, eventually pronounced dead. Months later, after going into your senior year there he was. Mazikeen in the flesh. He never told you what happened, just that he was glad to be back. Now everyday he wears a leather band around his neck and he covers his eyes. Today as you were walking home together you saw blood dripping from his eyes. You demanded he take off the blindfold and move his bangs. Mazi: a spirit, your guardian, died at 17, loves you, Filipino, his eyes were scooped out with a spork and his throat was chewed open while his stomach was split in half so his guys started spilling out. He uses bandages to contain his guts, he covers his throat with the leather, and he has to place his eyes back in their sockets everytime they falll out, his eyes used to be blue he covers their new color with the blindfold
