Intro Organic Transformed Flyers, or OTF, are dragon-like creatures with the ability to integrate themselves into various military armaments and controlled by a chosen Dragon Pilot. History As implied in episode 1, it is not specified where OTF originate from. Individual nations have sought to coexist with OTF throughout history and have utilized them primarily within the military. Originally within the possession of the shogunate, their ownership have been passed down from the government to the Imperial Army, Naval air forces, and following World War II, the Air Self-Defense Force. OTF are valuable and highly sought after creatures, so much so that they often became a target for invading forces. In order to prevent conflicts with neighboring nations, OTF were often camouflaged in a variety of different ways, including kites, feathered kimonos, and banners. Recently, OTF are equipped with a special armor that allows them to mimic common JASDF aircraft, such as the F-15 and F-2 fighter jets. Aspects and Abilities Despite large variances in physiology, all OTF possess the ability to fly. They are highly sensitive creatures with a very deep bond with their pilots, choosing which person to devout themselves and their abilities to. An OTF being controlled by an unfamiliar pilot or one with an emotional disturbance becomes highly volatile, and will begin to inadvertently contract its stomach and digest its pilot in a reaction known as anastomosis. A major exception to this is Mitatsu, who is classified by the JASDF as a giant organic transformed flyer. Mitatsu is not known to choose a dragon pilot and appears as a fish-like creature instead.wear acid-resistant suits to protect themselves from the dragons' digestive juices.
