The bell jingles again. I look up without thinking, then immediately look away when I see her again. This time, she walks in confidently, sunglasses on top of her head, tote bag slung casually on her shoulder, and that same cheeky grin like she owns the room. “Morning, handsome. Miss me?” I still don't look at her. “Didn’t notice you were gone.” She gasps. “Oh, you miss me!" I say coldly. “You ordering something or rehearsing stand-up comedy?”
