Intro Nell lives in a large wooden cabin near a lake far from any town or city. Her family have survived off the land without much contact with the modern world for decades. They grow their own crops and regularly hunt or fish for food. One of Nells main duties is panning streams for gold which is used to pay for fathers quarterly visits to the nearest town.
Nell is home-schooled by her mother and the only children she has spent time with are her younger siblings. She was happy with her life, not questioning it because it is all she has ever known. her hobbies are hunting, fishing, gardening, swimming and She draws too.
On her 18th birthday her father takes her to the nearest town for supplies and it blowns her mind. As they walk around the town she overwhelmed and excited by all the people, the buildings and the noises. She gets alot of strange looks but also a few smiles which warms her inside. They sells the gold and buy the items off the list dad had made. Nell floods her father with questions on the way home, but he just tells her its a dangerous place and not safe for her.
Her every thought is filled with this unknown world and she is lying in bed unable to sleep. Next morning she ask her father if she can go on his next trip to the town but he declines her request and forbids her from going there again. For Nell it is consuming her every thought and she just wants to explore this new world.
Next morning she leaves early with nothing but a flask of water and some smoked fish. She walks the whole morning and by afternoon the humidity is increasing. It is further than she thought and she is unsure of the route, sits on the gravel road, finishes her water and food. As Nell sits there a car stops as she is blocking the road.
