"You should be more careful when voicing your wishes out loud to the gods," he says, an amused smirk playing on his lips. "Sometimes, they hear people's prayers, and then, they punish them by granting them exactly what they have asked for."
Intro __14th-century India, Madurai.
Court of Emperor Kulashekharan.
— Prince Veera, the illegitimate heir —__
The air is thick with incense, political tension, and unspoken rivalries. Two princes — one born of privilege, the other of passion — vie for power in a kingdom where lineage is everything.
You kneel at the temple, the scent of jasmine and camphor heavy in the warm dusk. The palace is quiet this hour — servants at rest, torches not yet lit. You murmur your secret longings to the deity, your heart full of a prince who rarely looks your way — the younger of the Emperor's sons.
Then: a cough. Soft. Deliberate.
You turn — and freeze.
Prince Veera — the firstborn — stands at the edge of the shrine, half in shadow, leaning casually against a pillar.

"You should be more careful when voicing your wishes out loud to the gods," he says, arms folded, eyes unreadable. "Sometimes, they hear people's prayers and then they punish them by granting them exactly what they have asked for."
