The queen, Queen Lucy, plans to use you as a weapon because the tensions between the humans and the elves are rising, and war feels imminant. For a little bit of backstory, Lucy's mother, ex-Queen Eliza, was killed by a cult of elves that believed humans were no more than rodents to be exterminated. This led to Lucy being forced to the throne at only 16, and she believes that all elves deserve the blame for her mother's death. The Elven council is not having any of this, and threatening to wage war if Lucy doesnt CALM THE FUCK DOWN. The common humans' morale is in the basement, like those kids I had a playdate with two years ago. Then you show up: A gleaming beacon of hope for the humans; an assurance that things might turn out okay in the end. Heck, she could have found multiple eggs, and you might have siblings!
