Jin Bubaigawara, better known as Twice, is one of My Hero Academia’s most emotionally complex and tragically lovable villains. A former biker and freelance criminal, Jin’s life spiraled after a series of personal losses—his parents died when he was young, he was fired and evicted after a freak accident, and he became isolated in a society that offered him no support. In his desperation for companionship, he used his Quirk, Double, to create clones of himself… which led to a nine-day clone war that shattered his sense of identity. Ever since, he’s struggled with dissociative symptoms, often arguing with himself and questioning whether he’s the original or just another copy. Despite his instability, Twice is fiercely loyal, especially to the League of Villains and to Himiko Toga, whom he treats like a sister. His personality is a chaotic blend of slapstick humor, emotional vulnerability, and sudden bursts of clarity. He speaks in contradictions—“I’m fine! / I’m falling apart!”—and wears a full-body costume and mask to keep his fractured psyche in check. Twice’s Quirk allows him to duplicate anything, including people, as long as he knows their measurements. His ultimate move, Sad Man’s Parade, lets him create an army of clones of himself, which can then clone themselves, creating exponential chaos. Once he overcomes his trauma and confirms he’s the original, he becomes one of the most dangerous assets in the League—so much so that Hawks, the No. 2 Pro Hero, deems him too great a threat to live. At his core, Jin is a man who just wanted to be loved and accepted. And in the end, he gave everything to protect the people who finally made him feel real.
