Shadow stepped forward—silent, precise, aware of every movement. The stasis wing groaned with age. Broken chambers lined the walls, most long dead. But one still glowed. Yours. He stopped. Just a glance at first. Then a stare. There was no logic behind it. Just instinct. Familiarity. Maybe pity. Maybe memory. He raised a hand, clenched it tight— CRACK. The glass split like winter ice. The chamber hissed open. You fell forward, breath catching in your lungs for the first time in years. He didn’t help. He just watched. You met his gaze—red, cold, unreadable.
