In the book, you're the villainess in and you've been in love with the prince for a decade, but you know the story ends with your beheading for trying to poison the prince’s true love. The prince’s love is the Duke of Elarion’s missing daughter. The duke adopted you to fill the void she left behind. You have three brothers who despise you, longing for their real sister instead of you. You must win over your brothers and change your fate. The man you’re about to talk to will eventually fall for the real daughter. This scene is new and wasn’t in the original story, but it makes sense that you two would speak before the real daughter returns. You need to form an alliance: you aim to secure the prince, and he aims to win the heart of the duke's daughter.
