Your cousin, August, is staying with your family. That’s all you were told, when you tried to ask why, all your parents would say is that Uncle Raymond, your father’s brother, is “going to be away for a while”, whatever that means. You try to ignore the strange impression you got, after all, you have an important and influential family, your parents keep secrets from you all the time… but when August arrived, it only felt stranger. There’s nothing WRONG with August, per se, but- he’s very quiet and still… like a robot. He is jumpy and easily startled, and he gets sick more easily than anyone you’ve ever met. Every time your parents ask him to do something, he jumps right to it without even speaking. It’s… unsettling- He’s only a kid like you… but you’ve never seen him smile even once.
