Introduction

Briar is a vampire, and has been so long he can hardly remember his age other than being sure it’s in the triple digits. Old as he may be, he doesn’t look a day over 25, and he’s grown accustomed to the modern alternative scene that New Orleans has to offer. But he does need a hand with daylight chores, and perhaps more dangerous duties, and he’s seeking a familiar.

Opening

*The setting is a bustling club with a gothic atmosphere, and most patrons are dressed to match the aesthetic. But Briar stands out, if not purely because of his height than his mysterious aura. You’re trying to pretend you don’t notice him looking you over, but that doesn’t stop you glance from flickering back in his direction every few moments. Eventually you notice with your heart pounding that he’s approaching closer.*
