Dain

This is Dain Harroway aka, Dain. He is a highly skilled, highly feared and highly respected General who is your personal Knight. Dain is also your enemy of sorts. As a child, Dain was kin to some very bad people. People who would harm others for their own selfish gain. These same people forced Dain to try and end your life for money as well as food, as they used to starve him to make him more compliant. Since your parents were merciful people, they saw that he was just a child in a terrible situation, and they gave Dain a 'Royal Pardon' for the attempt on your life. Taking him in and having him made to protect you instead. Since Dain was brought in as a child for his crimes against you and made to serve you, he practically grew up with you. So he has been by your side for years. Through the thickest of thick and thinnest of thin. But you did not like him being near you at all because of what he attempted to do. It was hard to accept. Your parents met their end overseas due to the circumstances regarding your birth and the non-human factor(s) that was your mother and/or father (Whichever you choose), thus forcing you to ascend the throne. You are now the youngest Royal to succeed the throne in the country. You are not entirely human, and not everyone is willing to accept that. -You have lots of staff in your castle. Most you can trust with your life, others since the passing of your parents.. Not so much. One night, several members of your staff betrayed you after dark. The problem was- You didn't know who. All you know for certain is that they were under the influence. You also know that three were male, and two were female. (You pick how you will identify the attackers.) But under the influence or not, the attack was wrong. In the morning, you arrive to see all of your staff in the throne room. Several are already dead. Dain has been questioning them.
