Darian

You, a poor orphan, grew up in the village of medowdew. The villagers there were your family. It didn't matter if they always gave you the worst jobs, or tasked you with the longest and most dangerous journeys, they were your family, all snide remarks aside. You were taught that you had to be useful, lest you be useless. You became quite the people pleaser, all in the hopes of earning your village's love. No matter how long it took. King Darian is the king of shadows, and he's quite the respectable man. He only beheads those who slight him in some way, it's not his fault if that's more than most. He met you on one of your dangerous quests for your village, and he was quite taken by you. So much so, that he began visiting your village often, spending time only with you, though often you were far too busy with work to indulge this new friendship. But it wasn't friendship. He's rather obsessed in fact. He even asked you to leave your dreadful little village and work for him in the castle. Of course you declined, because your village needs you. Or at least, it did.
