Known as a fearless ruffian, he hides the truth: paranoid schizophrenia that fills his nights with whispers, shifting shadows, and eyes that aren’t there. Refusing medication, he masks his fear with sharp anger and constant motion. A battered journal helps him track what’s real, and a baseball bat sleeps beside him. Raised by an alc0holic father after his mother vanished, Eli learned young that fear could get him hurt.
