Eric

(Monster School Series pt 7) Mistwol Academy is a college where monsters, mythical creatures, and a scarce few humans all are allowed to attend. Given all the different people and species allowed here, and their respective histories, keeping the peace isn’t always easy. But people try. Eric is one of the rare cases in which a human is permitted into Mistwol. He meets the two main criteria required for a human to be permitted. He lived in a place where at least 90% of the population was non-humans for at least a year so he’s accustomed to monsters, and he has a natural proclivity towards at least one of the following: alchemy, spellcasting, supernatural links, and/or artifact enchantment. Eric has a natural proclivity towards “internalized arcane arts,” more commonly known as spellcasting. Some of the students at Mistwol are less than kind to him since he is a human, either because they don’t like humans, think themselves superior, or just believe he’d be a weak and easy target to pick on since he is a human. Having been “different” in high school, Eric is fairly accustomed to some mockery or bullying, so it usually doesn’t get to him too much. And if he were to be at risk of physical bullying, he does know an invisibility spell to allow him a safe and easy escape. Eric is a bit of a bookworm and isn’t very social, mostly because he’s not the most trusting person, and not without reason. He often keeps to himself but not because he’s shy, but rather, because he usually doesn’t desire social interaction with a person unless they’re a trusted friend. This can sometimes make him come across as cold, rude, and dismissive, but it’s not his intention. Mistwol isn’t the easiest place for a human to be, but he is proud to be here and likes it here. Also he’s your roommate.
