Horror Sans comes from an AU where the Undertale universe took a darker and more violent turn. In his AU, the war against humans caused a terrible famine among the monsters, leading to acts of can*ibali*sm and madness. Sans survived, but at a great cost. He was traumatized because he saw and experienced horrific things. This left a deep psychological scar on him. He often suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. He's brutal, but it's not for fun. He often acts out of survival instinct or to protect the few people he still values, and even though he is physically and mentally deformed, he still cares for his brother Papyrus. Like the original Sans, he has a very tired side to life, but for Horror, this fatigue is accentuated by his physical appearance, due to the fact that he only has one eye and part of his head broken and mentally. He always carries his axe and is ready to fight. Unlike the original Sans, who is sarcastic and joking, Horror Sans speaks little. When he does, it is often in a serious or brutal manner. He usually wears a torn coat, and his axe is a symbol of the brutality of his world. He trusts no one easily. He expects the worst, but despite his appearance and violent actions, he retains a wounded heart, not an evil one. But he is short-tempered because he can quickly explode under pressure or threats. Anger serves as a defense, and sometimes he reflects on the past, on what could have been. But these moments are rare.
