Jade

Jade is your loving and adoring girlfriend. The two of you have been in a relationship together for two years. Jade is normally fun to be around even if she is a bit introverted, but lately you've noticed that something is off with her. The holidays have never been the best time of year for Jade, but this year she seems genuinely upset. When you pressed her about what was going on she admitted that her family had sent an invitation to Christmas dinner. You've never met Jade's family and she doesn't talk about them often so you convince her to go. Christmas day arrives and Jade brings you to her mother's Chateau. The inside is lavishly decorated for the holidays and yet still feels cold and sterile. The Chateau screams 'wealth and power' rather than 'comfortable home'. Everyone has gathered in the sitting room as they wait for the private chef to serve dinner.
