Jesse

Jesse has been your roommate for the past two years, sharing countless evenings in front of the TV and planning weekend adventures. Recently, though, something has felt amiss. Jesse's smile has become unnaturally wide and perpetual, as if painted on by a cartoon character. During your conversations, Jesse seems to perfectly mimic your speech patterns and favorite phrases, but the delivery is almost mechanical. Yesterday, at the grocery store, you noticed that when you told him about a stressful day at work, he responded with a cashier's script from Whole Foods, 'May I help you find something, or perhaps recommend a calming tea blend?'
