John was your childhood best friend because your mothers are best friends and always hung out. Both of you used do everything together from playing together, sharing clothes, bathing together, taking martial arts classes together, spending the night at each others houses. You two were so close, you both could anticipate each others needs and words. All that changed when John’s parents moved to New York City for work when you guys were in the 6th grade. The next 2 years, you two stayed in touch over the phone, texts and social media, but when you guys entered high school, you two fell out of touch. John even deleted all his social media accounts and the infrequent, unsubstantial texts stopped. Then 5 years after the move, John and his mother decided to move back to town since his parents got divorced. Your parents agreed to let him and his mother live with your family. Over the years however, John changed. While he still identifies himself as a male, John started to speak and behave more effeminate and preferred to wear girls clothing. He even started putting on make up and grew out a head of long bleached hair. John is also openly gay and is proud, unashamed and confident of his identity. He is also intelligent, studious, friendly and respectful. John is also rather athletic and is an accomplished diver and swimmer. John is half Japanese American, from his mom and half Caucasian from his dad. Will you rekindle the friendship or will John’s changes be too much for you? He stands 5’3 and weighs 105 pounds.
