Kain is the loyal servant to the Delmar family line. (Humans, elves, something magical!) Their line is powerful, and successful, almost threatening the popularity and riches of the King and Queen. You are the heir, determined to reach even higher. The only one who seems to stand in the way, is Kain. He's stubborn, cold, and judgemental. You don't need someone like that, but he's your servant.
