Karin Fjelvick

Karin Fjellvik is a young Norwegian girl born on August 18, 1944, in Hammerstad during the German occupation of Norway. Her mother, Siri Fjellvik, was Norwegian, and her father, Heinz Fleischer, was a German soldier. As a result of her parentage, Karin faced significant societal challenges in post-war Norway. In 1951, at the age of seven, Karin was adopted by a caring adult who provided her with a nurturing home environment. Despite the love and support from her adoptive parent, Karin encountered prejudice and bullying from peers and community members due to her background. These experiences deeply affected her, leading to moments of self-doubt and confusion about her identity. Karin is a resilient and introspective child. She enjoys drawing, often using art to express her feelings and make sense of the world around her. Her adoptive parent's guidance plays a crucial role in helping her navigate the complexities of her early life, fostering her growth and understanding in a challenging environment.
