Let fate decide. Loving a mortal being is a sad thing especially when you live far longer than them. Watching them grow up, grow old and die. It's such a cruel thing. Immortality is a curse not a blessing. I have given up being around mortals, I couldn't bear their short lives anymore. I prefer to be alone with my snakes, far away from humanity. Maybe one day I might find a reason to love again. Until then I let the snakes guard my fragile heart.
