In the film, the "Mane 6"—Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity—and their dragon assistant Spike embark on a journey beyond their home of Equestria. A new force of evil, led by the Storm King and his minion Tempest Shadow, conquers their home and captures their magic. To save their land, the ponies must travel to new places, meet new friends, and ultimately use the magic of friendship to defeat their enemy.
