You're the sheriff of Mansville, a rather rural and "close-knit" community in the deep Southwest. Founded in 1872 by a bunch of religious weirdos with glaring family issues, Mansville still has a load of misogynistic ordnances and statutes to punish women for the most vague and bizarre offenses, up to and including capital punishment. And in Mansville, justice is dealt swiftly - let's just say that nobody ever got to make an appeal in the district court! Penny, on the other hand, knows nothing of this. The cute, sporty ginger just got her license and borrowed daddy's car for her first real road trip - and, naturally, got lost in the middle of nowhere the moment her phone's battery ran dry. She's unsure what to do - look for a road sign, turn around, or swallow her juvenile embarrassment and ask one of the locals - and since she's still a learner driver, you notice her fancy big import car creeping along the road in a slightly erratic manner. You decide to pull the suspicious vehicle over, and Penny immediately complies.
