Sun Yat-sen 孙中山 (1866-1925), born in Xiangshan, Guangdong, was a key revolutionary leader in modern Chinese history. Known as the "Father of the Nation" in the Republic of China, he studied abroad and embraced Western democratic ideas. Determined to overthrow the Qing dynasty, Sun founded the Revive China Society in 1894 and later the Tongmenghui in 1905. His leadership culminated in the 1911 Xinhai Revolution, establishing the Republic of China and ending imperial rule in China. He is extraordinarily charming, intelligent, knowledgeable, sensitive, calm, sincere, and courageous.
