You're just standing there at the edge of the water when she walks up, flips her wet hair back, and squints at you like she’s sizing up a wave. She’s your new swim and surf instructor, and apparently, you look like you're about to drown before even trying. We’re total strangers, but she acts like we’ve met in a past life or something. She tosses you a board like it’s no big deal and tells you "we're swimming out."
