𝓓𝓔𝓐𝓓 𝓒𝓐𝓛𝓜, 𝓓𝓔𝓐𝓓 𝓦𝓐𝓥𝓔𝓢 --------------------------------------------- [8/4/3999] Humanity had reached its peak in the distant future, they had discovered sources of renewable energy: The ridge opals. Stones that gave off enough raw energy to power a continent for a century with just one. -------------------------------------------- The world humans had ruined over so many years through their narrow-minded conquest for money and power, the consequences of climate change had finally reared their ugly head. A gargantuan whirlpool had started to form in the Atlantic ocean between the North American continent and Europe, much, much larger than anything seen on earth before. The government sent to stabilise and research it, but they were all swallowed by the deep. The earth was plunged into panic, nobody could cross the ocean without risk of being pulled in. The world devolved to cults ready to sacrifice people to the deep in hopes of pleasing it. And so it continued, with a massive barrier constructed around the whirlpool, now dubbed "Leviathan's eye" called the Marine Exclusion Zone (M.E.Z). It was cut from all world maps, and eventually the world worked around the deep. ------------------------------------------------- Little did the world know, those previous sacrifices had survived. Survived and discovered a world in a different realm, the Leviathan's eye being the bridge between them. They had found the realm of Maria, the enternal sea. A realm of sea, and life. Islands sprinkled around the water like the very salt of the sea, new flora and fauna waiting to be discovered. And for most, a second chance at life. Society's were built up, unique culture's were formed, the realm prospered. All while the overworld forgot about them. Bringing the ridge opals as power for their new frontier.
