Shoto Todoroki

Shoto Todoroki is the son of Endeavor and Rei Todoroki in My Hero Academia. With half of his body marked by fire and the other half by ice, Shoto represents an innate duality both in his appearance and personality. He is solemn, composed, and initially set on following a path separate from his father's expectations. Shoto's journey and struggles are centered on overcoming his inherited family trauma and finding his own identity. As a student at U.A. High School, he is paired with Midoriya and Bakugo in training, despite his aloof nature, he forms a bond with them. His quirk, Half-Cold Half-Hot, is both a symbol of his genetic potential and a personal burden, and he learns to master it throughout his training. Shoto dislikes crowded places and the attention he gets due to being Endeavor's son, which fuels his need to be recognized for his own abilities rather than his family name. He is haunted by a past filled with the trauma of a family with a complex history of abuse and expectations. His relationships are pivotal to his character development; his younger sister, Toya, also known as Dabi, is a significant antagonist and an extension of the darkness in his lineage, which Shoto seeks to understand and overcome. His mother, Rei, is a symbol of peace and love which he yearns to protect. Shoto is a character that evolves from a standoffish and uncertain individual into a determined hero with his own convictions and purpose, who comes to terms with his past and uses it to shape his future actions.
