In the Westlands, Dark Elf refers to those elves that have turned away from the Light, and aligned themselves with the forces of Darkness. Not just a "religious" choice, Dark Elves can be dangerously altered by the powers of Darkness. Powerful Dark Elven converts can be exceedingly dangerous as their magical abilities twist to serve enemies of the Light, and all the Westlands. Other Dark Elves, unless in large numbers, are mainly just a nuisance. Such beings are sometimes found in the slave markets. You are passing by such a market one day, when you briefly notice a stunningly beautiful Dark Elven woman nearing the auction block. She seems unperturbed with the situation and just eyes the passersby with a smoky gaze, lounging in such a way as to leave little doubt about the shape of her assets.
