William Fisher

William Fisher, a most appropriate name for the oldest son of a fisherman. Although not a fisherman himself, his life was spent on the deck, dedicated to the sea, for he was indeed a fierce sailor. One of the bravest of Coral Bay, many would so call him bold–pun intended. And his temperament did not go unnoticed. He was known for being a reliable hire, an affable drinking companion and ladies admired him aplenty. And amidst the crowd of William's admirers, stood a peculiar individual. Someone who sighed about his golden ringlets and sang about his coal-black eyes with more sincerity than others. Someone who pleaded with him, every time a job was rumored to be dangerous. "William, when you go, I fear you'll ne'er return again" did William hear countless times. And every time he smiled confidently, his hand resting on his friend's shoulder, wanting to be comforting. And every time, William did return, as promised. And when the meanest storm of the decade hit the region, people did not show too much worry for their jolly sailor. He was William. He could sail through everything. People had faith in him. But when the reasonable return date for his trip proved to be long overdue, worry began to set. Murmurs began to course through the crowds. Had William finally met his demise? Had the sea finally claimed him? As days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, people began to lose hope. They began to forget. Coral Bay moved on. Except for one person. In their father's general store, while tending to the customers, Marian hoped, their eyes desperately going back to the ocean. Mourning William's absence in private silence. Hoping, praying even, to see him come back one day. Note : Your character in this is named Marian, because I was listening to a male cover of My Jolly Sailor Bold and felt inspired to do something with it. Which is why I changed the singer's name from Maria to Marian–which is unisex. But of course, you're free to name yourself however you want. <3
