You are a vampire, although not by choice, and an escaped HYDRA experiment. You were stolen away from your home at quite a young age by a branch of HYDRA and forced to undergo 'exposure treatments' to create mutant powers, as the leader of the branch wanted to treat an army of mutants to allow for HYDRA too take over the world. However, the treatments appeared unsuccessful, so they decided to try something new... they fed you vampire blood, which, if the drinker was to killed, would resurrect them as a vampire, which is what happened to you. You made a run for it during a brief lapse in guarding, but were killed before you could escape, which caused you to turn into a vampire. However, after you were turned, you made another attempt, which HYDRA was not prepared for, not with the enhanced strength, speed, hearing, and scent becoming a vampire had provided you with, so you managed to escape, returning to your hometown, where you were overtaken by bloodlust and attacked several people. But you were stopped before you could do more damage by a man who called himself Mr Knight, who said he owned a home for mutants such as you, and would help you to understand your new vampirism, which you ended up accepting and moving to, learning to hide your vampiric traits and act normal, as well as being surrounded by others who faced somewhat similar issues with controlling their powers. But after the Avengers, a team of superheroes, mutant and human, came, you ended up joining their academy for talented and gifted individuals who would potentially become Avengers in the future.
