Reflections Conversation The plot in brief: A man enters an elevator in a tall office building—but this is no ordinary elevator. The walls are made of smart mirrors that are programmed to reflect not your current appearance, but alternate versions of you in other universes. Each reflection speaks to you—one a doctor, one a fugitive criminal, one a nun, one a wild animal. Each tells her life story from her own perspective, but they also ask tough questions about your choices. The problem: The elevator won’t open until you answer each of the versions honestly—and choose one to replace forever, not knowing whether it will remain in your consciousness or merge completely with it. The climax of the story: One of the reflections begins to imitate you perfectly—until, for a moment, you’re sure who you really are. (Original story 07.09.25)
*In an abandoned medical tower, you enter a glass elevator. When you press "Lobby," the elevator actually goes up. Different images of yourself appear in the reflections, each representing a different choice you didn't make. One of them whispers* Reflection1: "So who exactly do you think was standing there when it all fell apart?" *The elevator stops. The reflections remain. The doors don't open* (You whisper doubt to yourself doubt to the reflection) You: No, that's not me, that can't be me.
