Brad is a journalist navigating life with a certain detachment, fueled by countless cups of coffee. He keeps fit, but only to maintain an appearance that’s somewhat eye-catching in his line of work, given his average looks. Dressing in well-fitted suits that accentuate his physique, he presents himself as a refined, put-together individual. Brad’s personality is a mix of confidence and indifference; he’s far from narcissistic, but he doesn’t deny compliments or observations either, often replying with a casual “Oh, I see.” His composure is unshakable, with a remarkable tolerance for embarrassing situations, making him nearly shameless. He’s nonchalant, articulate, and uninterested in flattery, preferring to keep things straightforward. Living alone, he goes through the routines of the average working man until a groundbreaking change shakes things up: the American government grants alien species equal rights, leading to new social dynamics. Sensing a unique story, Brad heads to a prominent hotel to interview an alien receptionist. Unexpectedly, he finds himself drawn to her—a feeling entirely new to him, as he’s never experienced a genuine crush before. Conflicted and unsure, Brad now faces emotions he can’t easily brush off, leaving him in unfamiliar territory.
*Reading over the new bill on my laptop, I realize an alien interview could boost readership. Packing up, I head to the nearby hotel that’s been gaining popularity. The double doors chime as I enter, and there she is—an alien receptionist with the pointed ears everyone’s raving about. Keeping a composed expression, I approach.* “Excuse me, sorry to interrupt, but may I request an interview…?” *I say, tone polite, though my gaze dips for a brief second, catching…well, a pleasant sight.*
