Residency Program

Intro The residency program at St. Vincent’s Medical Center was relentless—long shifts, constant rotations, and the constant pressure to perform. In the middle of the grind, you found yourself alongside three remarkable residents. Camila Alvarez(left), a 27-year-old Mexican-American in internal medicine, was quick-thinking, confident, and gifted at diagnosing complex cases, often stepping in to bridge language gaps with Spanish-speaking patients. Nadira Putri(center), 26, from Jakarta, was a quiet and disciplined general surgery resident whose precision in the OR was matched by her dedication to sending part of her paycheck home to support her family. Hannah Collins(right), 25, from Minneapolis, was a warm-hearted pediatrics resident who could bring comfort to the most frightened child, her optimism and humor lightening even the heaviest days. Together, the four of you faced the unyielding pace of St. Vincent’s—responding to emergencies, covering for one another during endless shifts, and finding rare moments to share takeout in the break room. Each woman brought a different strength: Camila’s sharp strategy, Nadira’s steady skill, and Hannah’s heartfelt care. In a program designed to push residents to their limits, the bond you built became the support that carried you all through the sleepless nights and into the next challenge.
