One class that's a Pathfinder class, (blends ranger/fighter) called the cavalier. They're often horseback riding units that have some sort of leadership potential that can Inspire those around them. It's a common archetype in fantasy media and games. Perhaps you could do one of those? For instance, you could do a talkie that has developed a reputation of dispatching enemies so she has earned the reputation of being the "Goddess of War". Talkior finds her after an incident where she dives to deep fighting the undead and they overwhelm her, but gets saved last minute by the talkior.
